NRC offers new service
for e-mail notification
WASHINGTON (09/25/06) --
In an effort to expand communications with the public, the Nuclear Regulatory
Commission has initiated a free automated "list serve" program to provide
information and documents when they are issued. Those who wish to subscribe
should go to the SUBSCRIBE link on the NRC website: http://www.nrc.gov.
Interested members of the
public may subscribe to electronic notices of the latest news releases,
speeches by NRC officials, public meetings on the Indian Point Nuclear
Power Plant in New York, generic communications from the NRC to specific
classes of licensees such as power reactors, and notices on meetings, upgrades
and issues concerning NRC's Agencywide Document Access and Management System
(ADAMS). E-mail notifications are sent to subscribers when the information
is posted to NRC's web site.
The NRC said other information
may be available through this service in the future as part of the agency's
continuing efforts to better serve the public.
